- His own comments:
- I have been a fan of Dr. Who since seeing “The Sea Devils” on my Aunt’s colour TV way back in 1972. Since then I’ve been hooked, though I do feel that Doctor Who suffered from the too drastic changes made by its last regular producer, John Nathan-Turner. My one regret is that I missed all of the classic Hartnell and Troughton adventures (though I’ve since seen or heard all of them) as I wasn’t born when they were shown!
I’ve been making Dr. Who models ever since I can remember, the first being a crude version of the Tardis built to scale with the Palitoy Talking Dalek. This was followed by model Tardis consoles of increasing complexity and accuracy.
My first taste of putting models on display was in 1987 when several of my creations appeared at a local Art & Craft Exhibition. Exhibitions at the local library followed in 1990, 1991 and 1992, as well as bigger and better collections of models at the yearly Art exhibition in Uddingston.
I’m also an accomplished illustrator — I’ve just completed work on two books for one of my former teachers (Images Through the Mists of Time & Lest We Forget) — and examples of my work can be seen at the exhibitions which I organise.
After talking so much about myself, let me thank you for taking the time to visit my pages.
